We are currently transitioning out of the Nurse 2.0 era. While this period successfully digitized our records, it inadvertently fragmented our focus. The introduction of EMRs replaced paper charts with ‘Compliance-First’ computing—a design failure that maximized screen time at the expense of patient time.
Nurse 3.0 is not an upgrade but a pivot. We are moving to a ‘Connection-First’ model where technology recedes into the background, and the nurse returns to the center of care
